The first flight to Tel Aviv from the UAE
26 / 10 / 2020

The historic flight was operated by Etihad Airways on 19.10.20. Etihad is the national airline of the UAE.

Also, the plane made another historic flight from Ben Gurion to Abu Dhabi, it was the 1st business flight to the Emirates. The plane brought the delegation to attend a business forum in Abu Dhabi, and the press and representatives of the tourism sector were also on board.

According to the available data, in the near future flights will be established in a regular format. Flights will be operated between Ben Gurion Airport, Dubai and Abu Dhabi with 28 flights per week. This will be possible thanks to the agreement reached between the ministries of transport of the Arab Emirates and Israel.

The signing of the agreements on regular flights was scheduled for October 20, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to sign the agreement. Transport Minister Miri Regeva commented on the agreement with the UAE: “This is a special moment that will go down in the history of Israel. After all, our state is now at the stage of economic recovery in cooperation with new partners."

United States Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin led the business delegation, which included an Israeli official person authorized to implement new economic agreements between countries under the Abraham Accords.

15 September 2020, an agreement that normalizes relations between Israel, the Emirates and Bahrain was signed. This event took place in Washington and became "a special historic step, thanks to which the Arab-Israeli conflict will end."

It is worth noting the fact that the agreement was concluded with the active assistance and mediation of the United States. During the signing process, Donald Trump said that this event will become a solid foundation for stabilizing the situation in the Middle East.

This tripartite agreement was called the "Abram Agreement." Palestine, in turn, showed dissatisfaction with the deal and withdrew its ambassadors and diplomats from Manama and Abu Dhabi.
